What’s in the Bible {20 Days of Giveaways: Day 13} and Review

What’s in the Bible? with Buck Denver is a new DVD series created by Phil Vischer, the creator ofVeggieTales®! These movies are designed to walk kids and families through the entire Bible. How cool is that!?! DVDs 1-8 (Genesis – Psalms, Proverbs & The Writings) along with the newest release Buck Denver Asks…Why Do We Call It Christmas? are available now, with more releasing soon!

Do any of you remember the "Thoughtful Guy" {Thoughtful Thursday} post a while back? The one with the video of those crazy guys, Rhett and Link. Remember how I told you they were in this series?!? Here's a taste of their song:

Here's a trailer to explain a little more about why WITBand a sneak peak of the shows:

My family is loving this series. We bought the entire 7 disc set and now we are passing them out 2 at a time for every holiday ;o)

Maggie just got the 1st two for her birthday back in June. I don't know about the rest of my family but I am ready to hear what happens next! We may have to make up a holiday between now and December. That's a LOooooong wait.

Although all my kids enjoy watching these puppets being silly and are catching all kinds of good truths, I'm not sure if they are learning all that's being thrown out there. WITB has so much good information I think many adults {myself included} will learn tons from this series. This DVD pack will last us a long time!!!

  1. Carrie Moore says

I’ve seen these DVDs promoted on various websites (including your blog!) but I’m glad you’ve described them a little bit. I’m VERY interested now that you’ve shared exactly what they are. They would enhance what we are trying to do in our home! To tell you which one I’m the most excited about or interested in would be difficult because I love the Old Testament! It would be a toss up between the Exodus DVD and the Joshua, Judges, Ruth one.

    • Carrie, after hearing Phil talk about his decision to change up how he was going to teach kids about the Bible after moving from Veggie Tales to this, I was hooked. He discussed in this interview {http://whatsinthebible.com/2011/12/09/phil-vischer-on-fox-news-live/#ooid=x0cGQ0MzriEvNfP4L6zda7gX2w0s3HGk} why he doing it a little different. They also have curriculum to go with it that I am super interested in looking at!!!
This series is great for children through adults!

  2. I just love the thought of kids getting great truth in a fun way. So, any of them look great!

  3. These videos sound so cool, and since kids seem to learn from repetition I bet they will end up getting a lot out of these. There is so much about the Bible that my girls know today that they don’t remember learning… I chalk a lot of it up to videos they used to watch again and again!

    • Thanks for the encouragement! I keep reminding myself on cartoon Saturdays that at least I’m filling them with truth even if they are getting too much screen time. ;o)

  4. I’m looking forward to owning ALL of them one of these days. Most excited about… ??? Too hard to chose. I’d say Vol 1 just because I’m excited to get started using them at all! :oP We LOVE our Veggies, but are ubber ready for something new!

    • We LOVE our Veggie’s too! It’s fun to hear a couple familiar voices but this is much more biblical than moral. I’d never thought about it until I hear Phil V discussing it.
You will LOVE them!!! I’m pretty sure Matt may be getting the next 2 in the series for his Bday just so I can hear the ‘next part’ ;o)

  5. What great timing! I have been so wanting to introduce my girls to this series! All of the DVDs look so wonderful and informative. I especially look forward to the 4th for its historical background. I can see that I will learn plenty along with the kids!

    • Michelle, I’ve been seeing this series Everywhere. Heard tons of great reviews. Enter tons of giveaways for them. I finally just Had to snatch’m up! They are so worth it!!! I’m so excited to introduce them to new people as well as bless someone with this Vol 1!!!

  6. I would like to see the first one first! 🙂
