Today, I have some great news for you And me!

My birthday is coming up in August. No, that's not the good news...although I'm not dreading it, I'm only going to be 28 AND I'll always be younger than the Hubs ;o)

I thought it would be cool to do a giveaway on my blog to celebrate! This is a THANK YOU to all of my readers. You guys make my day when I get comments and messages from you. Even simple stats saying someone dropped by is encouraging. Then I thought, 1 giveaway doesn't say that enough...it would be cool to do 20 days of giveaways starting on Aug 1st until my birthday on the 20th. Then I thought that, that's a lot of work. So I talked to some smart bloggers and they suggested I only run it for a week and end them all on the same day. That sounded better/easier. Matt ask if I thought I could even get 20 things to giveaway. Wanting to be confident, I said, "DUH! Sure I can." hehehe Game ON!

Well, I typed up a simple letter to those I'm already an affiliate for as well as to the company I already did a giveaway with. Then I send the same kind of letter via Facebook message to all my friends on Facebook that sell really cool stuff. {sorry if I missed someone who has a business- I'm still accepting giveaways if you're interested}. Guess what?

Almost EVERYONE said YES!

Woop-E, How many did you ask? 23! 16 have already agreed to join the giveaways! A couple of them have offered more than one product and others added discounts to ALL my readers! 7 businesses I'm still waiting to hear back from. How Good is GOD!?!  I nailed down 1 giveaway on Monday. So I decided to go for it! Yesterday afternoon I began messaging and email everyone. By last night, my calendar was FULL! I am so excited. a little overwhelmed...but EXCITED!

I'll keep ya posted on the exact dates the giveaways will be running. I'm gonna have to get busy on writing up all the post about the products, companies, businesses, and my friends' great stuff they are offering YOU! I'll also be tweeting out hints about some of the products in the giveaways between now and then.

There will also {potentially} be a Facebook party on August 20th ~6pm. If I can pull it off ;o)

Thanks again for taking the time to read here at asJulesisgoing!

Beef Dogs {Thoughtful Thursday}

This post comes via my hubby's creativity! He was thoughtful the other night {like so many} and helped me out by doing dinner. We were missing pieces to every menu item I had for the week so I was a little baffled. He brushed me out of the kitchen and when he called everyone for dinner this is what he had created:

Beef Dogs

1 lb lean ground beef
Season Salt
Hot Dog Buns
Your Selection of Condiments

Divide out beef {we did~5 parts} and season. Smash down just like a regular hamburger patty just shape it into an oval/rectangle rather than a circle.
Grill in pan on stove top.

French Fries

Frozen Great Value Crinkle Cut French Fries {handful per person}
Season Salt {enough to sprinkle over the tops}

I like to sprinkle our fries with season salt before baking.
The bag says to cook @ 400' for ~20 minutes
but if you like that crisper taste without having to fry them {we do} 425'ish for at least 30 minutes.

This kids loved them and they were just as good as if they'd been on hamburger buns!!!

Have you ever had a night like that where nothing was coming together because you were missing some piece of the recipe? What did you do?

DIY Address Plaque {Thoughtful Thursday}

Today is thoughtful Thursday so feel free to share ANY helpful hint! Have a fun recipe? A tool you love? Please share by linking up below {linky messed up so add them in the comment section} and then posting the “Thoughtful Thursday” button to your post so other ladies can get lots of thoughtful helps! I know I've been sharing a lot of recipes lately but ANYthing thoughtful is welcome! Consider visiting the link above yours and encouraging them through comments!

I wanna show you how I made my new address plaque for my house {2 years of living here with no number on the house was prolly long enough}! When we started fixing up our house to sell it I remembered I still didn't put up our house number anywhere on our house. Good thing we don't order a lot of pizza to be delivered. This is my front door...

See, very symmetrical. I wasn't quite sure where to put the number. I decided I'd but it above the door, spelled out since our house number is 5. Yep, just 5. "Number 5". Confuses a lot of people. Sounds like an apartment. We tell friends our address and they wait patiently for the letter to follow the 5. Ya know, 5B, 5D. I digress.
DIY Plaque:

I found this solid wood plaque at Wally World for ~$6.oo

I broke out my acrylic paint. I chose black and white.After I finished the painting, I PRINTED the word five off a word document in some fancy cursive font. Make sure to let the ink dry thoroughly.
I cut the word out leaving as little of the white as possible.
Then I used Modge Podged it glue down the paper. Mine ended up being a lil off centered...measure:!
After I glued the bottom and top of the word down {gently so you don't tear the moist paper or smear the ink} I sprayed the entire plaque with a spray clear paint for a sealant since it will be out in the weather.
Lastly, I had my hubs climb on a ladder, center the plaque and use 2 large screws to hold the plaque in place.

 What are some creative ways you display your house number?
