We have this same vacuum… In fact it is the fourth time in nine years we have had that same vacuum! Every 2 1/2 years or so we completely kill it and start over with the same one… Why, you ask? Because, it has only gone up $7 in price in all that time… Because we ask a lot of our vacuums, I am afraid to spend more on one in case it doesn’t last any longer, and because the ones that are less expensive look like something you’d use in a dorm room, not a house! We just bought the latest one about four months ago, and already had to do the same deep cleaning you spoke of! I can usually get three or four washings out of my filters before I have to replace them.
I am totally with you! I think I may have cave and get a new one. Ya know what, I’m pretty sure I just decided that will be a house warming gift to myself when we finally move…if we ever more ;o)
I really do like this one! Cheap, easy to clean, light weight!
